Have you heard about this crib recall????
^^ Click on this link above. It covers Graco and Simplicity cribs that were distributed by Target, Baby's R Us, and Big Lots. Check to see if you have the model!
It seems it had something to do with consumer error as well, but if you have one of these cribs, it's better to be safe rather than sorry!
Good luck!

Wow. . thanks for bringing that to my attention. I don’t have that model, but I will be checking my crib to make sure the drop rail was installed properly.

My son does use one of the recalled models. I checked his crib, and everything seems to be right, but he won’t be sleeping in it until I can talk to someone at Simplicity.

Yes, and the sad thing is 2 infants have died. The part of the crib that goes up and down has been installed wrong by consumers. PARENTS CHECK YOUR CRIBS!!!!!!!

i didnt hear about it, but im glad you posted this.
i almost bought one of the aspen cribs at target since it was one of the cheaper cribs that ive seen.
good thing my husband and i didnt buy that one and opted for a storkcraft one that seems more sturdy

yes i just heard about it and do have the old style hardware that is being recalled. i went to the web site and ordered the replacement kit and it is supposed to take 3 to 4 weeks to get to me. i’m pretty irritated that it will take that long, especially because certain ready to assemble furniture manufacturers can get replacement pieces to you within 4 days. according to the website, if you have the model 8740 with the wooden mattress support, those have missized screws and there is a kit to remedy that too. however to order it on the website, you need the model # and serial #. we bought this crib 3 years ago and no longer have the serial # and the hotline is closed for the night. i have a 3 week old baby and am going to go over to my mother-in-laws to borrow her bassinet , because he will not be sleeping in that crib until i can be 100% sure it’s safe.
